I think it's a huge step. The way these companys kill animals is terrible. The suffering is outrageous. If we're gonna eat creatures, there's no need to torture them first. Kudos KFC Canada.

Additional commentary: As fer not being a vegitarian....if yer stoopid enough to be food, you deserve to get eaten. :owned:

PETA, which has enlisted celebrities including pinup Pamela Anderson...

...John Bitove penned an open letter to Anderson in 2005 disputing PETA's claims, and extended a lunch invitation to Anderson at a restaurant of her choice, "so (he could) be certain (she was) kept fully abreast of (KFC Canada's) ethical practices."

I'm disappointed. Nowhere in that article does it mention what was so bad about KFC's practices nor how they were going to change them.

the choice is clear, either continue to pay $4 for a chicken sandwich or pay $7-$8 and sleep better at night.

yeah $4 dollars it is.

it says they're going to change the way they kill the chickens to a nazi style *put them all in a shower and replace the oxygen with argon for a painless death*, which will be from the standard *string upside down on conveyor, electrocute, bleed and autopluck process*.

I've always loved KFC's food -- the chicken, biscuits, gravy, potatoes... nearly all of it.

But I can't believe they've taken this long to change the way they kill their animals. Sure it's probably the most efficient way they could do it, but that's not even a valid argument in this day and age. When I heard a couple years ago that was they way they slaughtered their food, all I could say was "WTF?"

Unfortunetly PETA wins sometimes... I hate them myself, but I am impressed they have made a difference with such a company.

Not a veggie but I don't appreciate unnecessarily vicious killing on animals.

its pretty funny how they see themselves and thier long dead franchiese

"I think that KFC the brand has been off trend for more than a decade and they desperately need to seek relevance wherever they can," said Luke Sklar, principal at market researcher Sklar Wilton & Associates. "It is a dated concept. In the scheme of what they should have, which is delicious food that you would want to eat all the time, this falls dramatically short."

fucking hell thats funny and delusional

blame the custermer! not the super fucking low quality/standerds they used to drive the franchise right into and threw the fucking ground :olo:

and they hire these guys to blow this smoke up thier asses and tell them "its the custermers stupidity is the reasoon are product isnt successful" funny shit

plus look how the percieve themselves

from the google link blurb

http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=Skl ... arch&meta=

"Sklar Wilton + Associates Ltd. Better Decisions. Better Results."

are you saying you believe the hired consultants when they say the reason for the last 10 year downturn is - not trendy?

by saying its not trendy, it takes all blame off the companys very poor business deciesions and shifts it to the consumers attitude.

So after peta goes from getting "inhumane" methods of killing animals for food done away with, their next step will be to chop away at killing animals at all for food. Should those assholes succeed in that, whats next?

Many wild animals kill their prey in gruesome and brutal fashion. Wild species of dogs being some of the worst offenders, more often than not eating their prey while it is still alive. Aside from Ozzy Osbourne, Ive not seen or heard of humans doing anything along these lines.

Aside from the creeps who get their rocks off torturing things, when killing an animal for food, its typically done as quickly and painlessly as possible because an animal in distress releases adrenaline which tends to make the meat tougher and spoil the flavor.

I like pork just fine. The thought of eating people - not pork - makes me puke.
