The longest word in Welsh, easily beating that in any other language, is Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, meaning "the church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St Tysilio's of the red cave".
rubbish
The form "Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaurehaeaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu" has 92 letters, and has been entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the longest officially recognized place name in an English-speaking country. It is the second longest place name in the world. In comparison, according to the Guinness Book of Records, the world's longest place name is Bangkok's full ceremonial name given by King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke, and later edited by King Mongkut, nearly doubles that and is called "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit."

"The Hague" is a placename too, but its two words innit.

for someone as pedantic as yourself you should know better.

is it national plank day today in your country?

the hill in NZ is the world's longest place name. if as you say place names are words, then it is also the longest word

also, if you look at the translations of the maoribabble and the phlegmsplat you'll notice that they are basically sentences squashed into one word/name

go away underballs, or i am forced to have a placename with you.

wait. how does it work again?
afaik, a word is a combination of letters that is a carrier of meaning. the distinction between words is made by use of a space.

i agree, however, with the faggotry that is combining words together and calling it a new word. especially when it includes adjectives.

its pretty common, especially in wales

the welsh version of newport is casnewydd, which means new castle on the usk

even in english newport should really be 2 words, but it aint, its just one

The word with the most letters is a name of protein, as a name, it technically does not qualify as a word
fuck it, check this out

but at 1913 characters, we just had to include it. Theoretically these names can contain an infinite amount of characters, but this one qualifies as it has actually been used in a medical journal.
