rubbishThe longest word in Welsh, easily beating that in any other language, is Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, meaning "the church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St Tysilio's of the red cave".
The form "Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaurehaeaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu" has 92 letters, and has been entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the longest officially recognized place name in an English-speaking country. It is the second longest place name in the world. In comparison, according to the Guinness Book of Records, the world's longest place name is Bangkok's full ceremonial name given by King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke, and later edited by King Mongkut, nearly doubles that and is called "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit."

wait. how does it work again?
afaik, a word is a combination of letters that is a carrier of meaning. the distinction between words is made by use of a space.
i agree, however, with the faggotry that is combining words together and calling it a new word. especially when it includes adjectives.
wisk.

fuck it, check this outThe word with the most letters is a name of protein, as a name, it technically does not qualify as a word
but at 1913 characters, we just had to include it. Theoretically these names can contain an infinite amount of characters, but this one qualifies as it has actually been used in a medical journal.
