Hosting?

Post by Kaz »

I'm looking for a pretty simple hosting service, and a domain name. Storage and bandwidth won't be issues for awhile, but I'd like the option to upgrade. Recommendations?

I've been using 1and1. Others swear by Godaddy. Shouldn't cost you more than $5 a month for a basic web host and a domain. Try to stay clear of contracts. Decide if you want a Linux or Windows server, typically Linux unless you want to use .asp or something.

I've been using 1&1 for a while now too. Pretty decent. Getting 120 gigs space and 1.2 tb transfer with 2 included domains for $4.99 US a month.

Scourgey!

godaddy's worked flawlessly for me--great support and basically everything obsidian said, plus make sure you plan disk space and monthly bandwidth usage carefully--those are the most costly items.
