I don't have a job yet, so I'm very limited on money. I can't go above $150 and I want a video card that will last me at LEAST 1 1/2 years.
I was thinking a Geforce FX 5600 XT (I heard it can play d3 on high quality with 20-30 fps) would be good, but I was wondering if there were any better choices. I'm not allowed to order off the internet, and I assume that makes me even more restricted.
Oh yeah, I also have 512 mb ram, 2079 mhz, 120 gig drive, and a current Geforce 4 Mx (lol) and I have a AGP 8x slot waiting to be owned.
Im limited on my video card
Re: Im limited on my video card
I dont want to sound harsh, but that will be quite hard to do. Tbh, if i was in the same situation I would wait until i get a job and then get a decent card.JooKed wrote:I can't go above $150 and I want a video card that will last me at LEAST 1 1/2 years.
Or you could try getting something second hand... But $150 converted to the Queen's english pounds leaves pretty much nothing I can find.
I hope they have a special down here :icon23:
My friend got a x800 for $70 from somewhere that had a special. I doubt I'll be that lucky though.
Oh yeah, my other friend is getting a freaking geforce 6800 ultra, and he might give me his old Raedon 9600 se for a low low price. So, I might take your advice and use that card as a substitute untill I can get myself something better.

Is there much difference from a 9600 pro? Cause cheepest is the best here.Dr_Watson wrote:you can get a 9800 pro for ~$150 and it will destroy an FX 5600
probably the best "bargain card" you're going to find at that price.
mine pulls 40-60 fps in doom3 no problem... havn't played a new game that wasn't enjoyable on it yet.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

my 6800gt is 8x agp.. and honestly, its worlds better than my 9800pro was..JooKed wrote:k ummm....
I might be able to get my dad to order off newegg.com.
But should I wait till Chrismas to get me a Geforce 6800?
Will that set me back seeing how I only have 8x agp?
Is it worth the wait?
Should I just keep upgrading my cards yearly by buying cheaper ones?
now, a 9800pro is a great card.. prolly last you a year.. but bth the 6600gt is right around the same speed and the a few bucks cheaper..
If you do wait until christmas, 6800s will be cheaper..

what i just bought..
id try to gather a bit more money. shoot higher.. dont waste your money on anything lower than a 9800pro or 6600gt
