Within his first answer he throws in at the end...in passing...like he just remembered a talking point...more jobs and offshore drilling will fix the economy.
Jesus. This thing has just begun and it's over already. McCain is doing nothing but reciting memorized responses and it's the same crap we've heard already....verbatim. And McCain can't even look at Obama, let alone make eye contact. All he can do is stand there, staring ahead with that creepy forced smile.

I'm watching this now, it's on the BBC. I noticed that immediately, he hasn't looked at obama once, not once.
He must really hate him.
They're pretty neck and neck, Obama is looking pathetic with his weak stammering interjections, and McCain's patronizing tone is hurting him. He's also showing he knows more about foreign policy and energy policy.
At least 50% of America doesn't seem to vote based on issues or facts so I don't know how much any debate can really do. The mere fact that the McCain/Palin ticket is still even viable after she has been completely exposed as a dangerously stupid cunt who could well bring about the ruination of this country if she were to take over shows that.
Ugh. If McCain wasn't such a grumpy cunt, he would've won this going away. I call it a draw...Obama's counter punching was too monotone and cerebral...especially during all that 'cut spending' crap near the beginning. Thank god Palin is still alive.
lol i don't see how anyone thought this debate was a draw...mcain got owned over and over, never clarified himself, commited a gaffe or two, mispronounced leaders names...lied numerous times which is already being pointed out by media outlets...looked angry, wouldn't make eye contact etc etc...only a moron would think mccain came close...
LOL That's exactly the point or r u a moron? A good percentage of Americans R morons...or were you absent the day they taught moron identification at Moron U?
yeah whatever idiot...their performance in the debate can not be called a draw becuz most in the world outside the debate hall r retarded...besides...polls r already saying obama won it...
and besides...did u noticed how mccain wasn't wearing a american flag pin like obama?...why does mccain hate america?...
Nah, if Obama wins, it will likely come down to the unacceptability of Palin...even among the morons. Maybe he'll do better next time since I think tonight's result will rejuvinate McCain's campaign...somewhat...or maybe I truly am a moron.
I think Obama hit most of the points he should have in terms of clarifying how fucked up the Republicans have made current affairs...but so did McCain. Actually...any moron could do that at this point. On several occasions McCain said the opposite of what the fundamentalist rednecks wanted to hear and - to me - sounded like a liberal. But then five minutes later he'd contradict himself and muddy whatever point he was trying to make. I wanted to press the "mute" button every time McCain would drag on in one of his old man stories about his experience and credentials and I laughed out loud for real in his closing comment when he starts off talking about returning home from Vietnam....bleh. That shit is so worn out and disingenuous to be easily dismissed.
Unfortunately they both still sounded like war mongers. Venezuela is a rogue nation? Russia attacked Georgia unprovoked? Iran has a weapons program? All bullshit and lots of fear propaganda going on...but at least Obama knows that you have to start talking to your enemies, which is leagues beyond McCain's approach and his "expert foreign policy" ideology. How anyone could say McCain came across better than Obama on foreign affairs is huffing a solvent rag.

The foreign affairs stuff was fine...it was the economic shit at the beginning that was a wasted opportunity for Obama. He's too fucking nice in person...just like Kerry was...luckily in 2008 the Republican's cred on their bread and butter economic issues is exactly zero.
