I just finished watching it after not watching for a long time.
Dumb and way too much product placement. But it's Fox so what's new?
I must admit that when I saw Jack Bauer I instantly thought of that Robot Chicken cloud city dinner skit with Darth Vader: "Well....it's been a time and a half. But....lot of torturin to do."
I started the series a couple of years ago and I couldn't even make it past the fourth season. While I appreciate how the plotlines end up in a place you couldn't have known from the first episode of a season, it didn't take too long to realize that there's next to no actual drama in the series; there is next to no character development in the series; there are no interesting ideas. It's all just explosions and stereotypical terrorists. I put up with it for some time, but I am a little surprised it survived for 8 seasons or whatever it was.
That it's coming back in a more condensed form intrigues me though. Even if it is just more of the same nothing-but-adrenaline approach, I think I could get through it in a 12-episode format. They don't have to artificially draw everything out and introduce so many characters and twist the plot so many times.
On the other hand, I didn't realize it had been 8 years (wtf???). Queefer is looking old these days
This line only remake is total rubbish I've ever seen!!! Fuck off!!! --CZghost

you've kind of answered your own implied question here
