We set a spending limit of 30 bucks this year on family members - the wife and I set a $75 limit on each other.

One of the best Christmases I've had in a while. Just immediate family, no stress, no anxiety, just spending time together and eating a massive meal.

I got a figure 9 caribeaner, some curiously strong rare earth magnets, two cool guitar paintings to hang in my office and a couple of gift cards, one to the book store.

Very happy with Christmas this year.


Tomorrow morning we get to drive to Virginia to see the wife's family.

The best story from my Christmas is about my idiot brother-in-law-to-be. I can't stand the guy. Kracus is the best example I can think of as someone who reminds me of him. So we're opening gifts and we get down to the last couple, he opens a gift from my Niece and it's that crappy hand held Guitar Hero game that I thought was a joke when I originally saw it in the store. I then proceeded to open my last gift. Rock Band 2. Bam. The look on his face made me realize just what this time of year is about. Jealousy.

A new Dewalt drill, some sawhorses, another toolbox, a hooded Gonzaga sweatshirt, some cash, some books, and I still have to open the gifts from my side of the family - we are doing that tomorrow with them.

Was a mediocre occassion this year as about 20 hours of driving was involved.
I did get to take a shitload of pics with the new camera and got a nice photography book from the wife.
