Won't lie. Fell asleep. Woke up, realized i was on the wrong side of the road (rural back roads) hit the brake and jerked the wheel too hard, obviously.

Well if you were driving on the wrong side of the road, it could have been worse. Your pretty lucky.

Ouch, what a mess... that fucking sucks. Well, you're apparently handling it with a sense of humor. College stress can makes a person pretty stress-stupid at times.

That's, probably, why they totalled it. Fixable - and for less than the settlement - but insurance companies are stupid. Congrats on the 2g come-up.

Yeah, congrats on the 2k extra insurance value. Also, congrats on having that reduced when you pay excess, plus the hassle of not having a car, having to search the used market again for another vehicle, and paying increased insurance premiums for making an at-fault claim.

i'd have to concur. based on the pics it looks like nothing more than body damage which is a lot cheaper to fix than something that's structural. then again, if you rolled it i wouldnt be suprised if a lot of the structure is totally fuct.
what was the reason for it being totalled? isn't it if the cost of repair is greater than the value of the car means it's totalled? what was the estimate on repair? even though you think you made a cool 2k on the whole thing chances are insurance is having the last laugh. your current provider will up your rates, since you were at cause, but not enough so that you can get cheaper insurance elswhere.
god job on fucking up on something that was entirely avoidable from the very beginning. it's i life lesson. i've been there. done that. if you're smart you won't do it again.

Oh way to jump to conclusions as you always seem to have to be a douche bag about doing, Lawl. I still have my old car, which is now back on the road. I already have 2 or 3 vehicles picked out, and my insurance just dropped radically so whatever amount it does go up will be very close to what I had been paying anyways. Get off your high throne.

The guy who towed it from the scene said something about because the roof was 'crumpled' in the front (above the windshield in the first damage picture) that was an expensive bitch to repair.
When the appraiser called me yesterday to tell me the car was totaled i said 'i figured.' and he replied with, 'yeah, it was REALLY messed up' and i said 'i honestly didn't think it looked that bad'
Not my job, I don't know. The last picture, the part where's it damaged in the back, the back door hatch wouldnt open. But also, the airbags didnt go off, and i heard someone say those are a grand a piece *not sure of this* to reinstall.

insurance company probably figured that there's too many american cars sitting on parking lots waiting for someone to care about buying them to worry about fixing one.

It's a pity you didn't get hurt. You would have deserved it. Next time you're in an accident while drunk driving, I hope you end up in a wheelchair.

I knew a guy who rolled and trashed
FIVE different cars (including one Jeep) because he fell asleep at the wheel. He didn't get hurt in any of them...and obviously never learned a fucking thing.
Grudge is on to something.
