Windows Media Player vs. Winamp

Post by v1l3 »

I've bounced around some pages online to see which program seems to be the best and not.. I've been switching back and forth between the two of them over the years, and wanted to see what everyone around here thinks is better sound-wise? Seems like most think Winamp is better?

I've always been a fan of Winamp, but I'm really digging WMP 11. I like its interface and organization much better than Winamp.

Granted, I haven't upgraded winamp for years, so I don't know how the newest version works.

(and oddly, winamp is much slower for me)

Yea, a really though one, this :smirk:

I too was a winamp fan for years. I know(show'ng my years again)..

I was/am also tossing between the two atm v1l3

For me, personally now, winamp for quick/easy listening and wmp for the tough stuff

I used Winamp exclusively for music up until I switched over to Linux. Now I use Amarok.

Seriously, I pay attention to these type threads. I'm always looking to increase my input experiance. Truth: I only just learned that an mp3 cd holds a boat load more music than the audio discs I've been makin. :owned:

Windows Media Player vs. Winamp? Are these two really the best two options?

I use Winamp for one reason and it's two words...

MilkDrop

Ok, so it's just one word that they squeezed out of two words.

use the folder.jpg method. The embedded images I come across in music files are low res and shit anyway, I always delete them.

Also, that FooAVA is sexy, do you know if it's been updated for columnsUI? panelsui isn't supported anymore. Personally, I use Br3tt's Kameleon pretty much out of the box, because I can't be arsed with too much customization: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/ind ... opic=69485
