You might want to expand a little on what the game is about, if this is a 'for fun' or 'for pay' job, etc.

ok this is for fun, and its a indie game for a indie game studio, the story is

A race known as the the Tethesians reach Earth in their quest to expand their empire and inhabit all viable planets in the Milky Way. Upon reaching earth they discover the sentient human race, who must be eliminated to clear the world for their habitation. As is customary with the Tethesians, their scientists developed a virus to target the Humans of Earth and kill them in a global epidemic, using any survivors as slaves in their army and workforce.

As the virus spreads throughout the planet, it becomes obvious of the Tethesians plot, and the Emergency Coalition vote to destroy the planet and make it uninhabitable for the Tethesians. As the virus spreads, individuals are noted for their immunity to the virus, and scientists rush to find a cure. However none can be found. The Emergency Coalition declares Global Martial Law, and attempts to quarantine and curfew the population. Allowing free passage to only those who were tagged with bands to indicate their immunity. The virus continues to spread, and Exterminatus remains the only option.

The tagged are rushed to ships and sent to an uninhabited earthlike planet called Athos Prime, in order to preserve Humanity. Catching wind of this plan, the tethesians send an armada of ships to bombard the earth with their EM weaponary killing the majority of the immune population. As a result, only 74 of the tagged make it to the designated vessels. Due to the small number that made it, only four ships were occupied, and they took off from the planet. Two of these however, were largely incomplete, and lacked the mesh EM shielding which would protect them from the Tethesian weaponary. Causing them to be destroyed, leaving only the Titan Strike and the Collossus. This leaves just 22 Survivors as the earth is destroyed by Nuclear Holocaust.

One of the surviving 22 is George Mason, a 16 Year Old boy who left his family to board the ships. George Mason lives on the automated ship for 11 years, while it travels at Near Light Speed to Athos Prime. After just a couple of days in CTL Travel, the ship's shield's malfunction, and stray space debris destroys the Communications and Sensor Array mounted on the top of the ship. Preventing communication with the Collossus and any visual navigation. With the ship completely sealed, with no windows to observe the outside, the crew must rely on the ships computer and the backup sensor array to guide to them to their destination.

Over the years, George develops a love interest for one of the other survivors, an initially 17 year old girl called Naomi, who he shares a bunk with. 4 Years after launch, the ship is boarded by a Tethesian assault craft, as the xenoforms attempt to kill the crew. They manage to repel the attackers, but not before a Tethesian technician was able to access a computer terminal. The crew observe no apparent damage to the ship, and the ship's computer reseals the destroyed shuttlebay airlock with a replacement makeshift barrier and mesh shielding.

Elven years after the launch of the ship, the computer alerts the crew that the ship is making an emergency landing on a nearby planet, but it is not Athos Prime. The ship had been reprogrammed to travel away from the Collossus and to head straight for the Tethesian homeworld, determined to eliminate all the humans. Upon atmospheric entry, the computer locks down all the decks and ship sections, as the ship burns up in the atmosphere. Failure of the shields causes the ship to break up into several pieces and crash onto the planet.
Saved by the emergency Inertial Dampeners of their section of the ship, George and Naomi emerge from the wreckage to find themselves on a planet similar to earth. They wonder if they have arrived on Athos Prime, but their hopes are quickly crushed as Tethesian search vessels fly overhead. Building a barracade around their crashed section of the ship, and armed with weapons dispensed by the computer in the previous Tethesian conflict. The two of them set about defending themselves and searching for any further survivors.
The first wreckage they come across is completely destroyed, burnt up in entry and impact. The three people known to be in that section were dead. Ambused by the Tethesians, they fight their way back towards their barracades and are joined by four others from another section of the ship.

Upon reaching the barracade, they inform George that 3 of their number have been captured by the Tethesians, and another four are stuck inside another piece of the ship's debris. George takes charge, with the captain dead in the crash, and decides that they will rescue the remaining survivors and salvage parts of the old ship and alien technology to develop a new ship to escape the Planet.
After rescuing the crew and building the new ship, they finally escape from the Tethesian homeworld, and continue to Athos Prime where they reunite with Collossus.

this is what we have so far.

How *not* to recruit for a mod

Making a Mod

And please, add a few linebreaks, your story is unreadable.

That you want to make a standalone game probably means you need to do an even better job when trying to recruit. All of the advice above applies - did you read it?

I read your post and assumed you were about 15, and had no idea how much work is involved in what you want to do.

Making a mod or a stand alone game takes a tremendous amount of time and effort. So unless you can show someone that you have a lot of talent and ability to contribute to this project (other than just the idea), you won't get very many volunteers. No one wants to do all the work for a project with someone else's idea (we usually have too many ideas of our own and no time to do them).

On the other hand, if you do have some game developing experience, you may want to kick start the project by contributing a bunch of work and a basic framework of the project that others can build off of.

A silly fantasy story is the fun part that you get to write once you've actually done a ton of work making something tangible.

We probably sound very harsh and discouraging... but there is a reason for that - it really is a huge amount of work to make an entire game. Admittedly you're starting with Q3, so its really just a mod which happens to include engine-side mods too (but that also requires lots of new media to be created that you wouldn't for a mod, so its effectively "mod + more work")

Think of it this way - you will be 18 and at university before a stand alone game is even close done, even assuming you work on it regularly. Are you really sure you can commit to that level of effort? Do you think you've presented enough information for *us* to invest that level of effort into your idea?

Other than that story, what have you actually done / will do for this game? Can you code? map? make textures? sounds? If the answer is no to all of this, what makes you think we're going to dedicate years of our lives to this mod?

This is the point that the links above were trying to make... recruiting for a mod is about presentation. And actually creating it and getting to a point where you release requires you to do it "right" (and the valve advice looked pretty sensible to me.... little+often releases etc).
