I've never liked a multi player game as much as I liked Tribes and it's the only pc game that I really miss playing.

I expected a big revival when they released it for free a few years ago, but there really wasn't.
I think Tribes base turned a lot of people off because it had a steep learning curve and the guys that were good were really good. Similiar to jumping on a Quakeworld server now.
It had a lot of good mods though that kind of evened the playing field with more armors/weapons to chose from.
It's one of those games that was a lot of fun because you didn't even have to be doing anything. Just moving around the map and skiing was fun.
