Hi TheSte, it's hard to find people to create stuff for you and maybe dedicated 3D modeling websites are a better place for that than q3w. But you should definitely post some more specific info about the project (or link to a website that has that info) if you want to attract people.

Good luck with your project!

Heh. You do realize that's going to turn a lot of people off, right? :) School shootings aren't really a subject many designers and artists want to deal with...just saying.

In any case, if you want people to respond, you need to provide more information. If the project is so early that you don't have any screenshots or completed art then you should say a bit more about your idea here, or say how many people are involved, or how far along the project is. Also, what are your skills, and what are you contributing? Everyone has ideas...

Contact information is a good idea too, for people who might want to know more, but don't feel like posting here. Email? Website? Something? Good luck! :)

I agree with the words of wisdom posted above. I'd also like to add that there are a lot of requests made by people which are basically phrased like, "make me a map because I have great ideas". To be frank, no one ever seriously considers helping with one of these because creating content for games is very time consuming and dreaming up ideas for them is not. So you end up with the volunteers doing a massive amount of work while the original person with the ideas doesn't contribute very much to the project. It's not worth a developer's time to work on a one-way project like this.

On the other hand, we have gotten requests made that are phrased as, "I am able to do textures and other game art, but I need help from someone who is able to do programming and 3d modeling. Here is the basis of our project [link] and here are some screenshots of what my team and I have been doing [link] and we're looking for additional help. If interested, please contact me [here]." These people will at the very least get some serious replies.

Hope that makes it clear so you can see what the expectations from us game developers are if you want to recruit people for your project.

yes sorry but it's my first announce xD

ok if someone wants to ask me more my WLM is stefanopanarese -at- hotmail -dot- it ...

I 've begun search some people for a staff since few days but I haven't found anyone...

so we change above all the graphic of Quake III...for the code-side i'll search other people but for now I can change some things like add gametypes, new options etc...

for the 3d design i've tried to find something original and I've thought to add the REAL face of the player in 3d...i've found the solution but I need to talk to someone who's much more expert than me...I haven't started the project yet...but as I said it wont be any time limit....JUST FOR FUN AND EXPERIENCE for me and for the staff

In addition to what the others said above, you need to create something in order to inspire people to work on your project. If people cannot get any information about your project, people are not going to be excited about your project, and therefore you will not get any help. This is Pyschology 101. People are not interested in things if they don't see what they can glean from it.

Get people excited in your project. Be explict in your vocabulary describing WHY your project is awesome and WHY people should join your team. The simplest way to do this to start would be to create a simple informational website.

For example, I created this site: http://www.theleveldesigners.com ONLY to get people interested in the project and to see if I could get any help in building a team/project.

I teach a high school 3D graphics class that involves level design. Building a level that resembles the school is a definite no-no (and many students want to!)
