Review the plugins you're using for firefox if you have it. Check what you use a lot and what you didn't use much and reinstall appropriately. I always find it a bugger to remember what exactly i was using after i've done a format.

Re: So I am going to format
I'm a compulsive formatter (about once every 3 months or so), because I'm neurotic about having my rig run as efficiently as possible.
Assuming you have an external hd, it's handy to create a folder containing all your drivers and apps.
Saves you from the pain of having to find and switch cds.
O yeah, and your bookmarks if you store them locally, and not online with something like delicious.

Re: So I am going to format
I have another partition where I put the user folders on. Since I do a drive image, I just pop that in when I need a reformat.
And when I'm done, I don't have to do a single thing. And I don't have to worry about what to backup, since it's on a seperate partition.
