So, her argument for Creationism is that believing in a ultimate creator will yield a better society whereas evolution has led to misconceptions and a broken society. She did not bring up a single fact or evidence and kept ignoring the facts brought up by Dawkins.
She needs to realize that there's a difference between ideological wishful thinking and attributing select facts to support her model verses considering all evidence and facts to come up with a conclusion.

jesus fucking christ. every single time dawkins brings up a legitimate point she says it's not. it's as if the only proof of evolution she'll accept is watching it happen right before her eyes which are clearly blind anyways.

Wow, I love how she does not offer the man a seat to obviously make him uncomfortable. I don't think it affected him much.
This shit is hilarious, every time he does mention any evidence she goes back to the "respect" for human beings, which I can only assume is a watered down version of Christian's destroying cultures to convert, and bring others to salvation. Classic Christian imperialism.

Is there really a point to watching this? After reading some of your posts here it seems like the video will only make me frustrated. She's dumb and doesn't want to listen to him, so she dismisses all of his valid points. Does that about sum it up?

Re: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
To be fair, Deathshroud, I think that's the style of that series of interviews. I have seen a few other standing-Dawkins interviews with a camera man moving back and forth between the speakers.
This line only remake is total rubbish I've ever seen!!! Fuck off!!! --CZghost

It wasn't a debate. It was two people talking past each other.

terrible filming
Re: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
The sad thing is that these creationists aren't evil people who want to do bad and bend other people's minds into their warped way of thinking so that they can be controlled and manipulated or anything. These people actually believe that their creationist stories are the truth and they accept that as something that is as uncontroversial as the evolution theory is to you and me. While we here are saying "these are dumb people, they don't know what they are talking about", they say "these darwinists are close minded and why can't they see that there could be another explanation".
That to me is the scariest thing actually. "We" are not opposing some evil nazi-like force that wants to hurt people, knowingly make them stupid or control them. They simply believe that they are following the right path. And that makes it hard to make them see "our way". Frankly, they are as close minded as they claim darwin followers are.

I've never heard of any wars being fought, any abortion doctors being shot or any people killed during exorcisms in the name of Darwin.

Yet many religious people tag on Stalin and Hitler to Darwinism or at the very least, they equate Darwinism and atheism, as if either idea is the fundamental cause of genocide. While I do think think there's some truth to that, I guess they forget the Crusades or the car-bombers in Ireland, not to mention the Jews and Palestinians.GONNAFISTYA wrote:I've never heard of any wars being fought, any abortion doctors being shot or any people killed during exorcisms in the name of Darwin.

It still happens today with Christians converting people. Christian missionaries destroy cultures by spreading Christianity, not only in the US but many other countries. They try to pass it off as helping these people, but in the end ignorance and blind faith is promoted in favor of health and real education.Mogul wrote:Yet many religious people tag on Stalin and Hitler to Darwinism or at the very least, they equate Darwinism and atheism, as if either idea is the fundamental cause of genocide. Seems to me that while creationists may not be evil, bending other people's minds to their way of thinking is EXACTLY what they want to do. It's the "duty" of every christian to convert others to the gospel, which of course leads to control and manipulation.

Their argument is based in faith which lacks any credible evidence.Eraser wrote:The sad thing is that these creationists aren't evil people who want to do bad and bend other people's minds into their warped way of thinking so that they can be controlled and manipulated or anything. Re: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
dawkins should have done a switch and asked her to concede the *possibility* that god isn't the creator, then accused her of close-mindedness when she didn't - as i'm she wouldn'tEraser wrote:"these darwinists are close minded and why can't they see that there could be another explanation"
