Gran Turismo 5 trailer

Some of it looks awesome. They didn't show the GT cars enough in this trailer for my liking, though. (Only a few seconds :()

No idea. I hope the awesome looking bits aren't pre-rendered.

wasn't gt5 prologue released about 2 years ago? what the hell have they been working on?

Uncharted 2 is about the only PS3 game I am interested in playing with the exception of gt5 if it ever arrives.

Awesome trailer. Never played GT, but I'll get this game when it's finally released.

I know for a fact that a million nerds came in unison when they saw that shot of damage modeling.

Looks niceish, but really not much better than the dirt/grid games in terms of sheer sparkle, although I concede that the actual simulation is bound to be far more realistic. The big question is, will they get rid of the obnoxious rubber banding?

I'm pretty sure it is. Since TopGear is watchable on Gran Turismo TV.

Heh, does the Tesla realistically run out of juice if it doesn't break down first?

I don't want to be pedantic, but surely if it's tracking your head movement, when you look behind you're not actually looking at the television?

can't wait for this game to be released already.

and i'd assume the head tracking is scaled. turn your head 10 degrees and the game turns 30, or something of that nature, otherwise it would be a bit silly to have to turn your head sideways and then strain your eyes back at the tv. kind of a novelty/dumb feature anyways

Didn't they steal the NASCAR license from EA? If so, does that mean GT5 will include a full-blown NASCAR game? :paranoid:

In any case, I'm looking forward to driving on the Nurburgring Nordschleife and Circuit de la Sarthe in this game, and I hope it'll have full damage (not just some damaged parts hanging off the cars) along with a sim mode that's on par with PC sims :paranoid:

Not to be my usualy self but... Does anybody else think the damage model is really... Erm... Poor...? The car in one clip hits a wall full on and the bumper comes off slightly, but never fully off no matter how much impact it had, plus the doors swing out and the bonnet comes up, but none of these seem to either slow the car down or make any difference... Its the same as the old GT games, you hit a wall and you just bounce back into the race...? These changes are never just cosmetic are they? In Forza if you hit a wall your pretty much fucked for the race.
