good setting for rails only server?

Hello,

I turned my server into a instagib server while playing someone mentioned that the server was slow. I told them that the server is set at default settings. The player mention something about speed and i was wondering what are good settings for a rails only server?

I figure your server is dedicated?

Are you sure it wasn't this particular player's connection or client side settings?

Yes the server is dedicated. I'm probably thinking that he was talking about the railgun being show. He did have a high ping also of a 140.

Well i guess you can consider the case closed then, unless you get more comments of the same kind from low-pingers.

Also, have a look at some basic server-side settings, defaults aren't always the best.

You can however make the reload time faster with instagib_reload, iirc. I am guessing (literally) though that in normal instagib it is set 1500 like a normal railgun, except for modes like instaunlagged.

I have played with 300 ping a bit(and won)...it takes a hell of alot of getting used to. I have played on some servers that were jerky though on top of it..if that's what he's talking about..then that's a problem. If it's a lag dealie at 140 ping...then they should just deal with it..that's the way things are.
