Not the point. Install OS and a few key applications on the SSD. Use the existing HD for media (mp3s, photos, vids, etc) in super power saver mode. I get much improved battery life and much improved performance. My notebook has 2 HD slots, one is currently empty. I'd like to install Win7 on the SSD.

If you want to avoid wasting your money on a drive that will run badly once it's full, read this article:

I haven't finished reading it myself, yet, cause it's pretty long.
I have however, gathered that - partly from reading his previous 2 articles on SSDs - waiting for TRIM might be a good idea. Linux supports it already. Win7 not yet (at the time of the article). Only some drives support it aswell.
