Re: LED vs plasma...
maybe plasma if it's been manufactured in the last 18 months and you care about picture quality (apparently the blacks are better) - but since you only watch downloaded cams, get an lcd.
led is still a couple of years away?

The best...
1080P
240Hz to 600Hz
40,000:1 to 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio
3 to 4 HDMI inputs
WIFI
Plasmas have a truer black, more fluid picture motion and are less money for the size. However, they are typically heavier, thicker, require more power and run hotter.

Re: LED vs plasma...
i see led's for sale all over the place...a little more than plasma...
Re: LED vs plasma...
There's plasma, fluorescent back-lit LCD, LED back-lit LCD, LED edge-lit LCD and as far as OLED goes, there's only an 11" 960x540 one (that's half 1080p).
Oh yeah, there are LED 1080p screens, too, but they are for massive public displays, not the size you are talking about.
The trouble with LED-backlit screens atm is the res of the backlights is lower than the res of the screen. The trouble with edge-lit ones is they don't spread the light evenly enough. The trouble with plasmas, is they get screen burn (and get very hot). The trouble with LCDs in general is the black levels are no good.
CRT? Now, there are some old 1080p CRTs about, but they have bad picture geometry, possibly caused by the way they made the set not so deep as traditional CRT designs.
You could get a projector...
I say wait for OLED before getting a 1080p TV.
Or if you can't wait, get a fluorescent back-lit LCD; just don't get an expensive one unless you are made of money - cause you'll regret it when OLED hits in a few years.

Re: LED vs plasma...
lol DTS telling you to wait for OLED 43" screen. you'll be fucking dead before that comes.
I've had both LED and plasma, both top end and i prefer the plasma however they will warm a room up.
Jesus, DTS is retarded, "don't get an expensive one unless you are made of money - cause you'll regret it when OLED hits in a few years"
