Random Quad spawns

Hello,
I have run into a problem where quad spawns on a map that its not intended to spawn on. I am trying to play a duel against the spiter bot but on q3nodm9 the quad spawns and ruins the flow. I have also tried to use the cpma bot on nodm9 and the quad doesn't spawn. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

/disable_item_quad 1

Works in VQ3 and most mods.

Are you sure you're running the game in the 1v1 gametype? Maybe you're in FFA mode with 2 players?
