Need something to put my 2000+ athlon xp into, since my current motherboard's capacitors are leaking.
My choice is either:
ASUS A7N8X-X $85 CAD
XP SOCK-A ASUS A7N8X $105 CAD
Do I understand correctly that the only difference between these two is that A7N8X has Dual Channel DDR?

I went on the Asus site to check, so I'm just posting here to double check.

That's pretty much right. The -X versions of the ASUS boards are the budget line, they lack certain functions, such as Dual Channel and maybe others (no extra IDE/SATA controller or FireWire? not sure).

Dual channel is considerably faster and well worth the extra cost, especially if its going to be awhile until your next upgrade.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.

100 bucks for new mobo and graphics card is very hard to do to get anything worth while.
Also what processor do you have?
