Gran Turismo 5 - Top Gear track!

Post by Don Carlos »

I was not going to get this game until I saw it had the Top Gear test track

The game really does look incredible - nicest racing game I have ever seen
Where were you when the West was defeated?

Wow, a single decent thing in the entire game, whoopy shit...

Game still looks like shite. They all have been since GT3, no matter how many polygons you throw at a car.

Don't mind Dr. Sandy Vagina there, DC. As a gaming industry professional, he has different standards than the rest of us. You and I, and anyone else with eyes and a brain, see one of the most realistic racing games ever made. o'dium sees shite.

I never understood the thrill of driving a car in a circle x amount of times.

You didnt say nothing about games :smirk:

but never the less, why do you try to beat someones highscore ? or play games at all ?, its not as simple as going round in a circle and its supposed to be a challenge

But thats just it, isn't it. Its not. Its going to be just as average as the last game (read: retail demo) was, or also just as poor as GT on the PSP. Ever since A-Spec, the games been about throwing as many polygons at the cars as possible, and not about the way the actual game "plays". Its made no progression at all in the series since the second one in terms of enhancing anything at all other than making it look pretty. If you don't agree, you don't agree, simple as that, but lets be honest here... GT has, and always will be, a stunning game with average gameplay behind it. Its not realistic at all, and to be frank quite a bore. There are many other games out, maybe not as pretty, that perform, handle and play much more better and realistic that GT.

So what do you say if... you're lost somewhere and you're "going in circles"? It's just a saying. Try not to look too deep into it so you can bust out your oh so funny gems.

Of course...? I've also done a little track racing, as well, although I will admit that was going on 4 or 5 years back, and it was only for the day. At no point during any of my driving did I experience cars hitting a wall and bouncing right off with no penalty to speed or performance, however. Don't make me bring up the Le'mans 24 race I easily 1st placed on the game with the aid of a rubber band and not even having the TV on... Oh, wait...

So I guess the more important question is... Where do you buy your armour plated cars?

I think hes referring to the driving aspect and not the gaming ? , no damage from barriers is obviously a game design that they have stuck with for whatever reasons they want. Clarkson already proved that the game VS real life is bollocks by racing a NSX on laguna seca but its always meant to be a game that mimics the way the car would react in real life and finds a balance between simulation and fun.

I aint been a fan of the GT series since A spec either, which i played to death, but that doesnt make the rest of them shit because A spec was so good ?, its like saying quake 4 is shit because Q3 was brilliant

Actually, if you think that I'm saying the lack of damage makes the game super-realistic, the more important question is: "Is the reason why you see everything as shitty because you have your head up your ass?"

The cars are modeled better than any other racing game I've seen, as are the tracks. Forza comes close, but I don't think it's as good as GT has been. That clip looks like video of cars going 'round the top gear track, full stop. The physics modeling (minus the damage, of course) is excellent, but my main point was the graphics aspect of the game.

So now graphics > gameplay...? It could look like Mario Kart for all I care, its the gameplay that counts, and for that the series is terrible.

Not at all, and GT's gameplay is far from shit, but if that's your opinion, have fun with it. It's pretty rich to hear you, the guy that's always the first to bitch about a game's graphics, saying that you don't care what GT looks like.

If you had your head out of your big headed arse for more than five minutes you would have noticed I never took that oppinion in the first place, it was simply a persona created by one or two q3w rnr cunt holes. But hey ho, keep it up.
