Ordered my first mac today

Usually build a machine about every 2 years, this year decided to go a different route since I'm not gaming anymore and wanted to streamline my desk and work area. Ordered a 27" iMac with the i7 quad-core processor. My ass is a bit raw from the raping I got on the price from Apple though. I would have liked a Mac Pro tower with multiple quad core processors, a few SSDs, and 32 gigs of ram, but didn't have the $18000 it would have cost.

Cool. You gonna give Aperture a try? If you are going to be using it regularly, give it a two week period where you will discover everything you ever loved and everything you ever hated about Windows. Then you should be settled in just fine.

So much hate... :)

I don't think that the mac will be without its problems or issues and it's not like I'm throwing the PC away. I needed a dedicated machine for my photography work, the display on this thing will be quite nice for that. And the benchmarks I've seen for the quad core are pretty good.

Keep in mind that colors on the Mac will look different than the PC.
That was something that struck me with my Macbook. Photo editing done on the Mac turned out looking bad when I opened the files on my PC and printed them.
