I'n not sure what a Rip is in DVD format. I have a file/movie that has .Rip after the name. Do I need to change the format to be able to burn it?
I also have 1 that is an Mpeg. I read that Mpegs have to be converted to something else to be able to burn to DVD.

you need to find out about the .rip's by your self, probally by reading the NFO that came with it...
As for the MPEG, check this out: http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/

If you had legally obtained and ripped said movie you would have known what those formats were.
