Oh hi, thanks!
I had a good birthday party. I had invited a whole bunch of people to come party on Sunday 7th (on my actual birtday) but suddenly everyone appeared on Saturday. Turns out my gf had already hijacked my birthday before I even sent my own invitations out and nobody told me a goddamn thing. Owned Excellent BBQ weather though
Other than a whole pile of money I got this pedalboard for my birthday:
And I bougth this as well:

Nothing wrong with Boss pedals, is there?
I only have 2 Boss pedals though. Also have a Vox Wah pedal and the Ditto Looper from TC Electronic. Then there's also my Zoom 505 but I barely use it anymore on account of it just not sounding very good.
They're just cheap, tone sapping garbage if you ask me. If your guitar/amp aren't that great then it doesn't matter. But I always cringe and/or laugh when I see people playing a $2500 guitar and a $5000 amp/cab then a fucking shit Boss pedal.

I'm biased though, I don't use any pedals at all.
Well that's true for everything. If you buy a $5000 amp and expensive rack mounted effects processors but play on a $300 guitar then it's gonna sound shit regardless.
The thing is, I don't play a $2500 guitar and I don't play a $5000 amp either. But I must be honest here: one of my Boss pedals is an OS-2 (Overdrive/Distortion) and I tend to skip it in favor of my Marshall amp's build in distortion channel which I prefer sound-wise. The Boss pedal is still useful in combination with the Ditto Looper though, because all effects definitely need to go before the looper.

Certainly... you're only as good as the weakest link. I'm just amazed by how many people think that a little pedal could ever possibly beat a good quality tube amp. You can run the looper just fine without a distortion pedal. Doesn't your amp have an effects loop? You can run it out front as well.
new amp with circuit boards and surface mount parts, not real chick-let size parts, but caterpillar shit sized parts , but hey there are cheap crappy sounding new import production tubes in it so it must sound good?
lol seriosly tho pedals are kinda a fact of life for many reasons
to create the classic tones of the old timers
some pedal masters are
jimi
steveie
david gilmore
brian may
andy summers
alex lifeson
see what i mean ? the list goes on forever!
yea ive heard some players get great sound from boss pedals, no 'im not one of them, to me they always sound sterile or they make an effect overtop the note/chord but they dont blend the effect into the note, to me they sound like that.
i have an old boss bf2 that i coould never get on with, it sounds like a regular non effected gutar sound, but overtop it is a wwwhhhhaaoooowwhhaaoooohh sound seperate from the note.
i like and use old 80's pedals from japan
they do what i want.
