E3 2014

Post by Captain »

Star Wars Battlefront behind-the-scenes
http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/ol71 ... es-at-dice

Mirror's Edge 2 (just concept stuff, skip past the usual EA marketing bs)
http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/1aqf ... featurette

NHL 15
http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/7w1b ... play-debut

Tomb Raider sequel teaser
http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/38fz ... omb-raider

Assassin's Creed Unity (looks like more of the same: terrible enemy and NPC AI with clumsy combat)
http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/95iy ... eplay-demo

No point showing Division footage since it's a Ubisuck game.

Yeah seriously, I just hope they manage to retain some gameplay from the previously axed version. Shoot a bounty hunter in the face, grab a ship, fly into space and blow more shit up = badass.

I'd love to see a badass SW game.

Wasn't the first Battlefront the game inolen kicked Thane's ass and won $25,000?

I remember Horka jumped into a BF2142 game I was in years ago. I made it my priority to repeatedly kill him and he rage quit like a little bitch. Also if Poohard is reading this, I'll wipe you out like I did in NHL 12.

The early in-game footage in the link/video looks so promising

lol you'd be lucky if the cut scenes looked that good. lets face it... the next gen consoles are already here, and they are already underwhelming. Better get used to another decade of mediocrity.

Biggest innovations for thuis generation:
A Tomb Raider sequel, a Crackdown sequel, a Battlefield sequel, an Assassin's Creed sequel, a Far Cry sequel, Star Wars sequel, a Halo sequel an a Mass Effect sequel.

Good thing we no longer have tot play those uninspired last gen games, eh boys?

oh the Division footage turned me right off. I don't even get why it has the Tom Clancy name attached to it.

the trouble with franchises.

for instance, the Guardian of Light game has the Lara Croft stamp on it but the characters could just as easily be called Harry and Sally. tis how it is.
And then there are the carbon copy games like CoD and AC, obviously.

Sure, but a Guardian of Light sequel is still a... well... a sequel.
Show me an E3 announcement of a game that does something truly unique.

Hmm, so it might be worth playing then. Hopefully it won't be an atrocious third-party port like GTA IV on PC.

I wonder what revolutionary new games Nintendo will come with. I put my money on New Super Mario Bros Wii U 2 advanced. Oh yeah, and a new Super Smash Bros game with the super exciting reveal of a playable character from a 1980's game no one can even remember!

watch the ID@Xbox reel.
the main stage is always reserved for the sure fire stuff. Fable Legends looks like a new game.. but in fear of not getting any appeal they slapped the Fable name on it.
Then again if it didnt have the Fable label and setting people would complain it's a Fable ripoff. fickle lot.

Also, Sunset Overdrive and No Man's Sky.

Anyone else not even bother with the annual franchises anymore? I got BF4 and the Premium DLC completely free and have played it for about 2 hours in total. In fact, the Russian hackers that used my Origin account played it much more than I ever will. I can barely get through Assassin's Creed III and Arkham Origins. Other than the NHL series, I'm pretty much done with the annual clones.

Ah yes, the indies.
But it's not really them I'm complaining about.
