something tells me its not gonna play like quake though, ie strafe jumping. I think they just wanted to make a battlefield type game, and decided to go with quake lore.

I think they'll go with the Enemy Territory gameplay, which is fine IMO

If it doesn't have a lot of traditional Quake gameplay in it, just try to think of it as a side story I guess. Something just for fun.

Looks good IMO. Really curious about the Q4 gameplay both SP and MP. Looking forward to it.

Yet it might be what most people choose to play over Doom 3 and Quake 4 ;) Not talking about hardcore FPS gamers here, but you never know.

Ok, now THAT is what im talking baout. That 2nd quake wars shot is great. Ok, so we still have the battlefield current day troops for EDF (Sorry, its TCM, i dont give a fuck what id say, stay with the lore), but damn, id sfotware know how to make an amazing strogg, and THAT is EXACTLY how i would like them in Quake 4.

Dark, gory, bloody and with pale skin. None of this bright red/blue shite with pink skin.

I'm looking forward to more screens.

As for the Quake 4 pics... Its just looking messy or is that just me? Almost as if they are placing "X" there and "Y" here and calling it done...? M<aybe, ill have to play it to be sure. But what I will say is that the crosshair on that one pic is awful.

It does kinda look low detail :/ HL2 has more detail than that tbh. I know it's the "old" D3 engine, but it really should have more detail IMO :/ Yeah, I am talking about the PC screens now. Just look at the weapon the marine holds in the last screenshot there :/ And the shadow on the floor made by the marine looks like the good old Q3 shadows tbh.

Does he mean god-like status on shooting the wall with the nails and having them stick into it so you can climb on them.

Or does he mean "push back splash damage" like the plasmagun.

It sounds like the obvious first one above, but knowing id...

There won't be any vehicles in multiplayer. The basic reason for that is when you add vehicles, then it doesn't become Quake III multiplayer, and you really do add a huge change in the multiplayer. As I said, we really want it to be skill-focused with the emphasis on movement and shooting, which, in my opinion, is the pure elements of what multiplayer gameplay is like. When you add vehicles then you add elements like were you the guy who ran to the walker the fastest or did you happen to get a lucky spawn and did you get an advantage over people who are on foot -- those sorts of things. And then you have to figure out a way to counter-balance that in the way the game operates.

Right, I guess that puts that down. Quake Wars is NOT id's new IP. We were all a bit "huh" over this as its a new game from id, but at the same time, its not a new IP...

So, this is splash damages more than anything, and there is still a new game to come out of id...

Have id ever had this many games talked about in such a small amount of time?
