Re: Manchester
Suspected nail bomb.
Presumably there were lots of kids there given it was an Ariana Grande concert? :/

Was working in Trafford today. It's like it never happened for many people.

it's pretty sad that events like this have started to feel almost routine

Re: Manchester
Increased police and military presence on the streets after the fact.
I'm always suspicious of this kind of reaction after an event like this. Paranoia starts firing off theories such as:
"They're going to use this to push through even more draconian surveillance laws"
"They're going to use this to justify the continuing War on Terror"
"They think the public are stupid enough to take comfort from an armed presence on the streets and don't find it intimidating at all"
"They need to intimidate the public in order to keep them in line after someone's just shown the government up despite all of the draconian legislation they've passed"
"A show of fascistic strength this close to a general election is very worrying"
Thing is, just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean I'm wrong.

Re: Manchester
Found out last night that my mates sister was at the event with her daughter. Said it was absolute mayhem, people flying over chairs / jumping railings n all that, she was pushed over a few times. His niece is still unconsolable and she doesn't know exactly what happened.

Re: Manchester
This is madness. A friend of mine was there and he missed the blast from a very close range. A lot of people there fell and some of them were dead that instant. It is still unknown what caused that blast, whether its a suicide attack or a planted bomb, this thing is unacceptable. Yes there were alot of kids, but most of them were far away from the stage so can't say much about them. I got this information from him only and he was crying on call. He did not know what just happened and he was in a state of shock. May these sons of imbecile rot in this life
