The opening scene at The Twins was epic.
Also liked the proper introduction of Dragonstone. Sam's shitbowls bad a bit too much screentime though, and what was up with the needless scene with the soldiers and Arya?

I think she's going to end up butchering them. The singing was stupid, mind.

Agreed on the poo bit with Sam, very hammy.

I think it was meant to give her some perspective to what she has become, as the one dude talks about having a girl n whatnot.

and yes, fuck that ginger cunt, smiling awkwardly while the proper actors are doing their thing.

OH that's what people were talking about. That makes that bit even more retarded.

But we've seen Dragonstone before, with Stannis...

Also, was that a rather giant plot-hole, wandering along with the walkers?
Explain please...

They could easily be older giants that were killed 1000 years ago...

There weren't just two giants. There were lots of them, you just haven't seen that many

Yeah I know, but 90% of that was just the room with the Westeros table. Not much of the outside or other rooms was shown.

I think the soldiers and Arya was just to give the soldiers a little more personality and life? Like, she's killing all these people who have lives and families and they're not just nameless twats who like to kill people?

I dunno, it did seem kinda random. It was also pretty cheesy...

It was a cameo scene for Ed Sheeran.

Colleague at work said it was to make Arya find her humanity. They were Lannister soldiers and instead of outright killing them, Arya accepted their offer of food and drink, realizing that not all Lannisters are bad people.

I think it was couched as that, but also ultimately to show how determined she is and that this little scene will not distract her from her ultimate goal.

But also, to contradict the conversation Jon and Sansa were having earlier, where Jon contended that the Lannisters didn't have the military resources available to move North, when here was a group of Lannister scouts doing just that.

It also served as a tantalising reminder that Arya is geographically closer to her remaining family than she has been in a long time, yet is unknowingly, if not uncaringly moving away from them.

Not sure if that last point was purposely being inferred by the show writers, but it can certainly be viewed that way.

Sure those too but ultimately I don't think it fits with the rest of the series thus far. The scene was too quick, too cheesy and too forced. It didn't feel like GoT.

Apparently Arya is a big fan of Sheeran, so the producers surprised her with his cameo. Fucking lame if you ask me. Leave that shit at the door

They have had other musicians do cameos, like Sigur Rós, but none of them felt forced like this one did.
