The only bad thing is the crap that sony pre-install with it (including around 5GB dedicated to the recovery partition... wtf?!).

Anyway, all partitions have been deleted, the drive reformated, windows pro installed, and all the drivers reinstalled. No problems whatsoever, and its fantastic to use. It does generate quite a bit of heat after extended periods tho, but at least it keeps my legs warm.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Nah, don't be put off by the Pentium M Mhz specs.. its actually equivelant to a P4 2.5/3.0ghz.

My main system is an AMD Athlon 64 3000, 512MB, ATI X800 Pro, 400GB HDD :)

So perhaps a slight exageration on my part, but it still holds its own, especially in the image editing/music production area.

Vary nice brisk, good graphics chip too
Which got me wondering, ive seen some recent games (Thief 3 i think) which says will NOT install on laptops. How would the likes of that one manage? Surely all games will go fine on them. Stupid question I know.

Also seeing as its a Sony, why dont they incorporate a Playstation emulator into the laptop to even play old PSX games (boot straight from cd when the laptops turned on). Theres plenty of power there to do that, even more.
Good sales gimmick.

Lame ideas I know, Im just fucking bored in work :icon29:

Well, i'll install HL2 on it later and tell you how it runs. I'm sure it'll be fine.

This laptop is basically a desktop replacement, and considering the specs I see no reason why it couldn't run any game currently out there (maybe d3 and the likes would be slow with everything on full, but you catch my drift).

Looks like you got the "new screen" can't remember what it's called. But it's sweet, looks like glass with anti-glare shield.

nice lappy dude,

PS, don't keep that hot laptop on your lap your spermcount is lowering with every post...

since when does the P:M "equal" high end p4 performance..

Have you noticed that whenever anyone buys a mac, they just say "I bought a mac", while if someone buys a PC, they put in pages and pages of boring numbers and specs?

p.s. looks nice. Don't you have to pay a bit of a premium on Sonys, though?

Indeed, wtf is up with those Windows laps. My sister bought a Toshiba yesterday and it comes with, I shit you not, 5 stickers beneath the keyboard and 5 underneath the laptop.

I was seriously considering a mac for the longest time, and rest assured if i bought one, there would be similar spec spam copied straight from the apple website :)

I paid £1250 for it, which is less than the RRP of £1400 I believe. There are better spec laptops out there, but very few have a screen that competes with this. Its just a joy to behold (and my first LCD screen too)

Re: stickers

They have to go. But I have a feeling if I rip em off, they'll leave a nasty mark.... :/
