Random restarting

Post by Fury »

so my computer after having been rebuilt(new mobo, HDD and vid card) is still randomly restarting. heat probably isn't a factor as its peak run temp is 43C, i dont know what else it could be, i've tried different video cards, ram, and boot drives still every now and then the system reboots. any ideas?

Random reboots are usually caused by a faulty PSU or RAM.

it can also be done by xp itsself,

Press windows key then pause, Click on the advanced tab, click on the startup and recovery settings button uncheck "automatically restart" and ok out.

see if that happeneds again, if it does, it will sit at a blue screen.

Quite right :icon14: . Copy down the error message, including the hex code. Punch that into Google and it will give you some idea of the issue at hand.
