I tried to play an MPEG file in WMP10, which has always worked untill now...it gives me the error: "The specified module could not be found." It does this for no reason...why? The only thing I downloaded recently was Windows security updates. I tried downloading various codecs...but still says the same damn thing.

some info
does that particular file work in any other media player?
does this error come up with any other .mpg's or just that one?

Well I just tried QuickTime and it works. But in WMP all MPEGs give that error. I'm pretty sure I just need a certain codec. The problem is which one.

You could try to install the Kazaa codec pack. It generally fixes all codec problems I have.

besides switching from the broken application, this is good advice.
