"Oh no, it's so cruel to hunt foxes! I'll take a double BLT, hold the lettuce and tomato."
For all I know, Memphis could have converted to a vegan in between the time I cared about reading up on people and now. If so, great for him... He's joined me in the sane minority of the world.
I read his comment as a beauty vs. beast scenario i.e. it's okay to eat a cow, but wrong to eat a person.
"The fact is, man is an etymologizing animal. He abhors the vacuum of an unmeaning word. If it seems lifeless, he reads a new soul into it, and often, like an unskillful necromancer, spirits the wrong soul into the wrong body."

Is there a difference? Both kill the animal. At least the fox has a chance to run away, but you know how hunters are. "This is my new laser scoped Winchester foxgetter9000 with nightvision. Jealous?"Grudge wrote:fuck off rep, this isn't about eating meat. It's about a bunch of fucking toffs getting drunk and prancing around the countryside killing animals for fun.
Real fair.

Get ripped apart by a pack of angry dogs or get shot cleanly in the head. You choose.rep wrote:Is there a difference? Both kill the animal. Moron. Before you start banging on about something, do some research.
Foxes however are vermin. They're the chavs of the animal world.
Nightshade wrote:No, they aren't. They eat vermin. Fox hunting has to be the single most retarded English tradition in existence. Except for that imperialism thing. Thanks for that, by the way. You fucks.Pauly wrote:Foxes are vermin. Kill em I say.
America come up with GWB

He's vermin... Maybe instead of fox hunt... Bush hunt :icon32:
Im all for hunting. I like it. Its great going out into a field at night with a high powered rifle, lamp and super scope and popping a few bullets into a rabbit. Collecting them up and then eating them in a rabbit pie.
Tastes like chicken...
Killing foxes is fine to, I just dont like the use of dogs and horses. Id rather hide out in a field and pop them off rather than chasing them.
Would you like some OJ?

Eating what you hunt is fine with me. I don't enjoy the act, but I love venison, and that requires one dead deer.boo wrote:

Hunting for sport is stupid, but I don't have a problem with hunting as a means of population control. Is there a massive fox overpopulation problem?
edit: @nightshade, shooting chinamen is another subject entirely.
no, i can't remember the term for it, but foxes are in the group of creatures that self-regulate their population.
that said, they can be a real pest - so need disposing of every now and again. sending out a bunch of congenital assholes on horseback with a pack of dogs isn't the best way of doing that.
