Amnesia and the soul.
Amnesia and the soul.
If a persons personality completely changes if that person suffers from amnesia wouldn't that mean there is no such thing as a soul?
The Term "Soul" has too many religious connotations to be taken serious.

A lot of people would say it's a bad idea, on your first day out of prison, to go right back to stalking the tranny hooker that knocked out five of your teeth. But that's how I roll..

Re: Amnesia and the soul.
No because we don't have anyway to evaluate a complete change in personality and even if we did that doesn't mean a soul isnt affected by memory, idiotKracus wrote:If a persons personality completely changes if that person suffers from amnesia wouldn't that mean there is no such thing as a soul?

Yeah anyway that's kinda the point of my topic. You're soul is nothing more than a collection of your memories and experiences and has no tangible substance meaning there is none further implicating that religion is bogus.

People can serpress memories. If some one was to serpress one memory dose that person cease to be them? What if they lose 30 % of the memories? 45%? what about 50%? 75%. ? at what point do they ceases being them self? If adding memories dose not cause some one to cease being them self, then why would removing memories be different?

I like to think of the person as being in a constant state of flux. You're never the same person twice.simple wrote:People can serpress memories. As for "self", that's a bit hard to define.
