wow, you must have just bought the game, Welcome to Quake3World.

I would play the single player mode and beat the bots that way. Once you have completed each skill level threw all the Maps then start over with a new skill level until you can beat the game on Nightmare.

Go get the DeFrag pack if you want to work on individual skills. Don't worry about bots, play online against people.

any map - and while it's good advice to tell you to go online, it'd be worth learning how to hold your own against the bots on hardcore before you start playing online.

have a look in the quake 3 discussion forum here and see what tips you can pick up.

Yeah but the bots on iraq.pk3 seem to have coding issues, they keep blowing up the us team

Depends on what map you want to be good at of course.

If you can't beat the bots on hardcore, I don't think the map matters.

I've actually gotten worse after playing bots on nightmare when I was bored and was downloading something so I couldn't play online.

I would say dm6 or ideally pro-dm6 if you have it, as it will give you a chance to use every weapon. It's the most popular map played and has a nice layout.
