God I wish they'd get rid of the little shortcut arrow. Easy solution: The actual EXE file should have some sort of colored text. Dark green and bold, perhaps?

It does look freakishly OS X-like.
And I'm sure it'll have 64-bit support if XP does... (XP-64).

Vista will ship for 64-bit processors, but it will not ship for Itanium. (Rofl)
I don't think Vista looks like OSX at all. Don't start on the trash can/recycle bin thing. There are only so many styles of trash cans available that haven't been used in previous operating systems.
128x128. A lot of other icons in vista are 256x256. Most of the time, you won't even see an icon since it'll be displaying the file itself.

are those even larger than the icons in XP on the "tile" setting?

What is a little sad (Even though this is just beta 1) is that icons that have been in Windows since 3.11 are still in there.
IE7 for example still has the crappy 16x16 Earth icon in the bottom right hand corner of the application. That one has been around since NT3.something

I think it looks like complete ass.
Oh, and the shortcut arrow can be removed in WinXP/2000/98 with TweakUI

Looks a lot more streamlined in the UI... Hows it like working with older stuff? (Some things wont work on XP for example)

Um, I never thought twice about it, but if you care to know that's where you can find it. May, may not be?
The Power Calculator is also worth dowloading. It's kinda like having a TI-83 for XP.

Yeah but you have no idea if 'doom.exe' is actually really a shortcut named that.
They need to give executables a special font.

This screenshot looks really confusing. I hate this new aged super graphical crap, it just confuses me :icon27:
