Quake IV to be released on October 31...

Post by Duhard »

link!

The id staff says it's gonna be released "when it's done" but amazon usually gets it right...they got DooM III's release date right, at least.

So I guess it's gonna be released around that date cause we will be seeing q4 mp in action at qcon so the game cannot be really far behind.

Well?

If you can run DooM III just fine then you should be okay for q4...so they say.

if thats the box art...i like it!
i'll be watching quakecon outcome for sure. theres been quite a few assertions regarding q4 multi that I need to see to believe. i dont care if they have to put bb's back in - in fact its probably better - as long as it runs smoother and faster than d3 did.

edit: sif i posted that before you puff.

Actually dzjepp, since they're going back to hitboxes instead of per-poly hit detection, much of the gay DOOM 3 netcode will be replaced with "normal" Quake-style netcode.
This line only remake is total rubbish I've ever seen!!! Fuck off!!! --CZghost

Well, there was talk of it shipping on 360 first. Which I hope is not true...

I'll end up getting it for both, I some hwo always do for popular games... The 360 will have more content as well probably.

But PC is where its really at. I hope its not the 31st, I go away for a week on that day :icon33:

"Trinity" was the codename of the Q3 engine when John Carmack first started working on the engine. To make things more confusing, Trinity was also the title of a (Q3 or D3 engine powered) game from Gray Matter (developers of the RTCW single player part). But that game has been cancelled.

They are working on an entirely new game that isn't related to anything they've created before with a new renderer that Carmack has created.
