May be W.I.P, but the character animations are WEAK!
It feels very much like Quake 2, but it's dark as hell, and the models are very different.
Kiltron has done pretty well, but I expected waaaaaaaay more from the character animations.
The Light Guards dont seem threatening at all.

If you check their website, it says "There are still things we need to finish, including animations, code, art etc", so I think they will do something about that.

Felt a bit slow also. And ran like shit :/ D3 runs pretty smooth on my machine now, but this ran very bad.

Great idea but may I suggest that the marine is possibly lost because HE'S IN THE DARK!

Its all very early WIP stuff guys. The animations are WIP and early, the models skins are very early etc etc... I think hes done good for his time frame and the fact he hasn't got a team.

Kiltron posts a bit at our forums with updates on the mod, we all think its great. The only gripes we have are with stuff thats WIP anyways, so its a mute point.

I got this when I tried running it :paranoid:

using ARB_vertex_buffer_object memory
using ARB2 renderSystem
found DLL in pak file: F:\Program Files\Doom 3\quake2_lostmarine\quake2x86.pk4/gamex86.dll
copy gamex86.dll to F:\Program Files\Doom 3\quake2_lostmarine\gamex86.dll

ERROR: wrong game DLL API version
********************
Error during initialization
Shutting down OpenGL subsystem
...wglMakeCurrent( NULL, NULL ): success
...deleting GL context: success
...releasing DC: success
...destroying window
...resetting display
...shutting down QGL

Why does it run so shitty? It seems to run bad when I look at things that shouldnt impact performance. Like in the water area where the grenades are, I turn around and look at that wall and it turns to hell.

Because the skins are at 2048x2048 but only use less than 500 square pixel texture space. Not only that, but there are 4 of them per model.

So obviously, its gonna run poor. I've already told kiltron about all this :D

Oh my fucking god. That was purely awesome. Unfortunately I can't play it really, since I was getting about 5 frames per second or something like that, but I liked what I saw. Good god I think I just creamed myself

I shouldn't of wasted my time with this, it feels nothing like quake2 and is almost unplayable due to the low fps.

He should of stuck to the original game, puting all the extra crap just made it worse.
