Depepends, I usually use 4-12. 16 has been known to happen.

I started with 16u stairs with Quake, but when HL came I noted how bad it looked with 16u stairs, so I went for 8u. Now I think I need to go up to 12u, cause I've been thinking about it, sometimes its impossible to make a really steep stair with 8us (valves recomendation of a stair is 12x8us).

I've done some playtesting with the reviewer on-xra3map1 (CPMA duel arena mode). Definitely a nice map. Very enjoyable (arena 2 in particular). :) Arena 3 should have a config without rail though.

Some people use 16 for double jumps and other trick jump related stuff. Looks bad though.

Also, I think it's a bad idea to use mapping terms in reviews since it's not a site for only mappers.

Gonna check out your map, Kaz.
