Mouse Stuff

XP Pro, SP2. When I click start, all programs, windows update, for example, and left click and hold down the left mouse button. I should be able to drag the windows update line to the spot above the all programs thing.

But for some reason, when I try it nothing happens. I can right click fine on the desktop and the mouse works fine everywhere else.

works for me...

make sure you haven't got any fancies like Xmouse enabled, or anything that might be interfering with the mouse (even directinput programs like games that might still be bugging the software -- try restarting?)

Right-click taskbar
Choose properties
Start menu tab
Customize
Advanced tab
Check "Enable dragging and dropping"

I wuld assume that this is ON by default?? SO I must have done something to turn it off.
