Ive got a friend who claims that a computer person told him his hard drive is dead. By dead, I mean he was told that it was seized up, not spinning at all. He was also told that the data could not be retreived.
There are data recovery services but those don't even guarantee they will get your data off for several thousand dollars so if he has a dead hard drive with content that isn't worth $5000+ then there's no point.
