That's nuts! I wonder how long it takes to adjust it to display the desired effect, though. If it had an intuitive interface making this quick and easy, it would be amazing.

Can this be used for filmmaking?

It exaggerates differences in movement and hue on time elapse video. Probably not useful for filmmaking, but probably beneficial to medial imaging, security, or other applications where video is used to monitor minute changes or movement.

So, unless you were making a film that resembled Waking Life or A Scanner Darkly... probably not then... due to the time lapse... or would it be impossible

There's no effect that this is generating that you couldn't simply synthesize for purposes of filmmaking.

Yeah I don't think film making is the prime target for this technology. Like obsidian said, security or health monitoring are far more obvious applications of it.

Basically the same basis as a stroboscope(example: timing light for old distributer engines).
