Nifty Computer Video thingy
Re: Nifty Computer Video thingy
That's nuts! I wonder how long it takes to adjust it to display the desired effect, though. If it had an intuitive interface making this quick and easy, it would be amazing.

I don't understand. I mean, I do, but I don't.
Can this be used for filmmaking?

Re: Nifty Computer Video thingy
It exaggerates differences in movement and hue on time elapse video. Probably not useful for filmmaking, but probably beneficial to medial imaging, security, or other applications where video is used to monitor minute changes or movement.

Re: Nifty Computer Video thingy
So, unless you were making a film that resembled Waking Life or A Scanner Darkly... probably not then... due to the time lapse... or would it be impossible
Re: Nifty Computer Video thingy
There's no effect that this is generating that you couldn't simply synthesize for purposes of filmmaking.
Re: Nifty Computer Video thingy
Yeah I don't think film making is the prime target for this technology. Like obsidian said, security or health monitoring are far more obvious applications of it.
Re: Nifty Computer Video thingy
Basically the same basis as a stroboscope(example: timing light for old distributer engines).
