I agree.

The last battle was kind of a letdown, but still an awesome game.

Yeah the last battle was a tad odd, I agree, but the fact they pretty much ripped off Metroid and even said to fans "Hey look, we WANTED to copy Metroid" gave them bonus points imo. It does play like a Metroid game should, just in this day and age. Such a shame nintendo haven't done a new Metroid like this :( (No, Other M doesn't count as it has first person no movement parts, and its team ninja, so you know, tits).

Speaking of which... I'm currently playing through Super Metroid Redesigned and its probably the hardest game I've ever played... 3 hours in and like, 5 items... The maps 4 times the size of the original game... I love it...

Check your news feeds. Activision have sacked Jason West and another IW studio head over, get this, "insubordination".
Apparently security turned up on site and really "freaked out" remaining staff.
Are we going to see a repeat of the whole MoH:AA thing?
Hope Orio's okay...

Innit?

Activision Accountant: So Infinity Ward made us, like, a bazillion spondoolies last year!

Kotick: SWEET!

Activision Accountant: Except now they want to make a new IP and not another CoD game!

Kotick: OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

I play in SD on a CRT TV. With composite cables.
I went cross-eyed trying to read the subtitles in BioShock 2.

Oh yeah, Activision's been on a friend-making spree lately:
King's Quest fan project The Silver Lining is being wiped from the face of the internet at the insistence of Activision's lawyers.

Years ago, King's Quest rights owner Vivendi/Sierra granted a non-commercial licence to the project following a brief legal spat. Vivendi/Sierra is now Activision Blizzard, however, and the new owner apparently won't extend the favour.

Its pretty clear that Activision are the new EA and have been for a while now. EA have been a half decent company for a few years, in fact. But Activision... They just grind my gears with each and every cock up...

I'm playing this game on Veteran now - up to the Boneyard level (I think that's what the old plane level is). Do the enemies in this game spawn forever or is it possible to hold out and kill everyone before moving on?

I'm pretty sure there are a limited number, but I recall that on that level it didn't seem like it...

LOOK AT MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS...IT'S OVER SUCK IT DOWN MOTHERBITCHES...

well, not really that big of a deal, but what the hell.

Just finished it on Veteran - the boneyard was surprisingly easy as was the caves level at the end.

The part that gave me the most trouble on veteran for some reason was getting Price to the nuclear sub - too me several tries and I had a cjheckpoint save that was right when I was about to die, so I had to immediately duck and run as the game started and maybe 2 out of 10 times I would not be killed instantly upon starting the game. Wove a tapestry of profanity during that part, I did.

I have to say that this game and MW1 on Veteran are just about the right level of challenge for the 'difficult' mode of a game.

so were you able to figure out if there are unlimited waves of dudes in the boneyard level? from my understanding, mw2 doesnt have unlimited enemites, but that level seems different for some reason(?)

i didnt beat the game on veteran, but for some reason i found the most difficult level to be the first brazil level BY FAR.

Brazil was hard because you were being raped by people from every angle. That shack part at the start was a complete toss pot for me because as soon as you clear area A and move onto area B, suddenly, area A is full of people again... Grrr...

The waves eventually stop; there aren't unlimited enemies.

Yea, the boneyard wasn't bad at all once you find a nice spot to cover and kill all the enemies. Brazil is a clusterfuck at the point where you are running through the shanty and have guys raping you from every possible angle - I just pushed aggressively through to hit the checkpoints. That was a source of a few 'cockshitfuckingmotherfuckercuntlickingdouchebaggingdicksuckercockfuckshitpissassfuckballs's" from me while making it through it.

Now that IW is all fucked up, is there going to be a decent follow up to this since the ending leaves the possibility open - or directly implied?

A word of warning: the locations that the enemies spawn from can be somewhat random. If you try to slowly creep your way through the stage and take out every single enemy, don't forget that they can spawn behind you, including the Juggernauts.
