Got back from five weeks in New Zealand a couple months ago. Don't really know where to next - maybe Easter Island.

Just had a week in Barcelona and managed to dodge two weeks in Germany.

Will be having a few weeks either in the Lake District on my MTB or the SOuth west coast, biking again.

Sounds like you all are having more fun than I this holiday, I'm staying home. Pictures from all your adventures would be spiffy :)

Hong Kong, Malaysia, Cambodia in August/September. I'm going to melt into a sticky pile of goo. Totally worth it for the food though. Also, I want to ride one of those scooters and live to tell about it.

As a proper nerd, I'm taking one of my weeks off for the Diablo 3 release. For the other week I'm either renting a beach house with friends on the east coast or maybe check out Russia if I can get around to getting a passport.

Amsterdam will probably be my only holiday this year. Could have done with a proper tidy holiday but my car decided to set itself on fire so I had to use all my saved money (and more) to buy a new one. Bum flaps.

Back already, well a day or two ago... Did this yesterday :)

You'd be amazed how many photos you can take of a rock, but what a rock

Stayed 4 Days, 3 nights there in a 4.5 star, lovely 'Rock view room' hotel style room.

Did 1 x 30 minute mid morning helicopter ride (or is that flight?) and 2 x scenic fixed wing* flights (2 hour PM and a glorious 45 minute sunrise one), and a very informative coach tour (about 4 hours) around the Rock. Driver and guide walked us to a couple of special spots close and at the Rock. I finally got to touch it.

* In a Cessna 172 size craft.___________Image

Best tour of all was a Harley Davidson motor cycle tour around the Rock at sunset, followed by champagne and viewing of another beautiful sunset over the red centre icon.

Did a special Sunset 'Sounds of Silence' dinner and a sunrise coach tour too, getting there to see the rising Sun rays hit the Rock, with about 500 other tourists from around the world (I've never mixed with so many foreigners) and yes the Rock does seem to change colour through the day and when viewed from different sites.

Weather so clear and clean/crisp.
So dry too, humidity down to low 20's.
Temps 7 to 28C (46-82F) and no flies to speak of
Stars to die for :)

Photos soon :D

OK as promised some personal snaps :)

Everyone knows of Ayers Rock (Uluru in the Aboriginal language) but few people outside of Australia have heard of The Olgas (Kata Tjuta in the Aboriginal language).

I have lived here for a long time and never heard of Lake Amadeus which is in the local area :smirk:

Slideshow here and album here
