So was there any interest by the admins in changing q3w to q4w? The only quake4world.COM listed under google is empty and has been like that for ages. Maybe that place will never actually open and we now know it's not the official quake4 site as it says it is, right? 4th one down:

Will this site stay intact? Will it be shut down? Will there be a new site, Quake4World.com? Will it be owned by id? Will the users of this site migrate over there?

If someone else owns quake4world.com then that's the end of the story. You can't just take a domain from someone because it's empty, and if you show interest in the domain they will ask for a high transfer fee.

Lose either way. The only way to work the system is to buy the domain before anyone else does.

I think the best bet for us would be to see if the bloke that has Quake4World.com registered and see if they will give it up. At this point I doubt they are going to do anything with it. Or if they show no more interest hopefully the order will expire soon...

Then having a redirect to this place from Quake4World.com would be good. I know at this point there would be no sense in making more Quake 4 forums here, maybe unless there was a new surge of people registering, which is unlikely.
