Bush funneling money to al-quaeda related sunni extremists
Bush funneling money to al-quaeda related sunni extremists
This is his plan to fight the Shiite extremists, apparently. :icon27:
Don't take my word for it, Seymour Hersh brought us this one...
Brief blog w/ video:

Hersh's full article:

I haven't read the full article yet, but I hope it's not as bad as it sounds. People are comparing it to the Iran-Contra scandal -- which is somewhat appropriate if they are bypassing Congress for funding and using back-channel cash for this -- but still it seems like a bit of a sensationalist analogy to make.

Raimondo's focusing on it in his column today too apparently.

Funny how you stopped replying to my posts in that thread and couldn't continue the conversation.... Yet, a week or two later, here you are bringing it up again in a completely unrelated thread just moments after I created it.plained wrote:really tho how can you expect others to do what you cant?plained wrote:how can you expect anybody to ever let anything go when you have this attitude

Let it go man. Harboring that kind of bitter emotion in your mind for such a long period of time, over someone you've never even met, can really be bad for your health.
And again, if you insist on reliving this, and can't bring yourself to post in the thread in which I originally made you look like an idiot, then just start a new one. I'll be happy to post in it.
that stuff you post is spam.\plained wrote:really tho how can you expect others to do what you cant?plained wrote:how can you expect anybody to ever let anything go when you have this attitude

how bout this questions for you to answer
how can you expect peace when you cant take a tiny insult without covert escalative retrobution?
That's along the lines of what I was thinking.seremtan wrote:SHUT UP FOOLS THIS THREAD IS ABOUT SEYMOUR HERSH
basically, it's a game of geostrategic whack-a-mole, or "covert escalative retrobution" as plainerd would call it
Not surprisingly, the article (what I've read of it so far) serves to point out how the administration has been stirring the pot with both hands in the whole region, without really having the slightest understanding about how all the sectarian pieces even fit together in the puzzle.
It also shows that hard-learned lessons and stark failures just won't put a dent in the solid combination of arrogance and ideology.
make a thread or bump the old one. i'm not replying to you in this one anymore.plained wrote:that stuff you post is spam.\plained wrote:really tho how can you expect others to do what you cant?plained wrote:how can you expect anybody to ever let anything go when you have this attitude

Forgot to mention this bit I read earlier
http://alternet.org/blogs/peek/48518/
Some sources say that 4 or 5 Generals may resign if an attack on Iran is instigated.
That's unheard of. Generals don't resign for reasons of conscience.
