Re: Some medic questions

My online fps was fluxing around 60. But I thought it was locked at 30? I didn't unlock it yet or anything :S It was only locked at 30 for the initial open beta. I think the focus of the revive hitbox is torso center and is small compared to ET. Though vanilla et's is immense and etpro's, which mos...

Yeah, I played against some dude who was an expert at cooking grenades. He'd get me every time, with zero chance to react. Once the games out its pretty helpful to have all grenade maps on occasion, so peeps get the feel for it, as we used to do in ET. The cookoff is usually about 3.5 -4 seconds th...

The list is surreal. Most people who listen to Billie Holiday, Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong wouldn't know what file sharing is, or even care. These also seem to be some sort of "best of" albums anyway. My experience is thats usually crap. Serious jazz lover...

I loath poor grammer; Are you or are you not a novice at scripting? It's a simple question. It's NOT belittling any one to be a novice at some thing. I'm a novice at auto repair, and, frankly, I see no reason to be upset over the fact. I am a novice in that area. But I don't go around calling people...

Y doom3 engine <-> opengl <-> dx9 <-> os? Or is the OS removed and its direct to hardware? And directx is a windows API correct? So what does Linux talk to? and if not and dx7 runs faster as was posted above, what the hell would I use dx9 for... Directx allows games to directly access hardware such...

I tried the instagib idea on both ut and quake. On unreal I played insta for 2 months straight, and it didnt make a hughe difference. When I tried it on quake it was always on Q3dm17, and I couldn't even fight back. I would just spawn, take one step, and get railed 13 times in a row. I hate capture...

Re: Something to think about

I would also like to add that Enemy Territory: Quake Wars(MP game that could be likened to RTCW style MP) is in developement right now. I believe it's plausible to think that Q4 MP support and developement has been purposely stifled or neglected directly because of the Quake Wars bottomline. What d...

Yup, if you have the game you can download the demos for clans unfaithful or No Remorse on challenge-tv. They are mostly old quakers.

My experience is mostly in RTCW and RTCW:ET. The competitors that I know personally there practice 8 to 17 hours a day, everyday. They can navigate the maps with their eyes closed, and know weapon capabilities inside out. They, also, have natural ability, one of the best players I know is also a pro...

It looks like a driver/settings issue. I had something similar in BF. No buildings, but players would seem to float in the air. I fixed it by lowering settings. Then I realized I didnt like BF after all the trouble.

Are all these viruses known to originate from that site or something? How does it determine the URL to reference? The site is gone now, but was a very legit computer security site in 1999. He isn't trying to break in. Your security device is pointing to an old web site. He used to write IDS signatures and maintain a online security database before he get sent up. I doubt that "diehard" fans would pay the carraige trade prices required to break even, which is why mods take up the slack. Take a look at gamespy's game server stats, which I think buffs the numbers for all games, and explain to me how you are going to make money off 800 connected players.

I knew it; taking away the quaker's freedom to tweak his config in order to have a more even battle field is SHIT. It means more segregation within the Q4 community - experienced players only playing with experience players and noobs only playing with noobs, because knowledge of Q4 server settings ...

So I end up playing DM or TDM more often. It's frustrating too because there's so many noobs in this game. They'll end up trying to kill you because they don't realize it's TDM. This could be solved by server settings putting people into spec when they join. Then the players choose which team to pl...
