It works without having to mod the maps, which is a big advantage - plus, the health bleed/armor bleed/falling damage all add up to really lesson player durability The rail at 45 is damn near useless with this much armor (it isn't meant for DM to begin with, but try a round on The Fragging Yard non ...

I don't like adjusting reload times, it fucks with peoples timing if they go from playing this back to vanilla. Granted, if you play Beefy for awhile, you start developing 'bad' habits like closing to close range and deliberately getting into bouncy rocket wars or diving off high ledges to get close...

Heh. I was banned by a virus member for 'spamming' the nailgun. Especially good since I *know* the guys from previous Quakes, he just didn't know the name I was playing under. Awesome. Idiot server admins indeed But yeah, the whole custom downloads thing desperately needs to get fixed. Searching for...

Video quality keeps resetting
I'm not sure what's causing this (new driver issue maybe?) but on my 6800, the texture quality keeps resetting to medium. Is there an easy fix for this?

I'm getting there myself. The last FOUR pc games I bought all had copy protection problems with my drive. Two wouldn't work while patched, period. One would not work in multiplayer for me and my friends, no matter what we tried (and this is not a tech-illterate group, largely IT professionals, I pit...

I really don't want to autoswitch to the rail after I run out of rockets
Is there a string for this somewhere that I didn't spot?

:D Dude, when I'm hitting 40% + rail consistently, I *know* something is wrong. I sucked ass with it q2, and in q3. Suddenly I'm some sort of rail pro? Don't think so. My friend who's actually *good* with the railgun hit 68% in a tdm match last night. wtf! That's right on edge of 3 out of 4 100 dama...

My money is on them fixing the most egregious of bugs, adding any functionality that is heavily requested and not _too_ difficult to implement (in terms of manhours consumed most likely), and possibly playing with the existing cvars/tweakable settings to allow and enable certain user and server admi...

As for the hitbox, he is using the skinniest model there to show how big it is. I'd like to see how large the box is on a normal marine model. The rail does seem very easy to hit in Q4 though, even when you can't see well. Heh http://photobucket.com/albums/a137/majorruth/ It's not the model, its th...

It is a combination of factors, for sure. I'm aiming to address as many of them as I possibly can in the mod. Threewave was too little too late And Capturestrike made me want to kill myself... shudder I do agree with you in terms of the scenes. I can't stand realistic or modern style shooters, perio...

You know, I didn't even think about that. I've been running OpenAL since I started playing it - in literally every other game I play, period, I don't enable EAX type stuff, EVER But like... in Q4 it sounds good. I suppose I should go check how it sounds without OAL enabled to hear it before I go cha...

I don't agree that the grapple solves rail problems. If anything, it amplifies them - what weapon are you going to hit a grapple monkey? Rockets? Shotgun? the rapid fire weapons (roofles) Nope, the rail. Again. That said, I do agree that the grapple is just plain more fun than without. I was shocked...
