if you have skyrim, you can find and download the editor for it and play around with the pieces. i've heard people say they actually like the editor, but it seems so clunky.
(you might not even actually need skyrim...)

I can't imagine exact timing being actually necessary for a designer. depends what you are trying to make... but i typically prefer to know the player's progress through an area rather than exact timing. totally nitpicky, fjoggs, and your map looks great, but in the third shot, those 'beams' with the alien texture look a little weird where they meet the trim
